My goal is to not only continue the work I do in consumer protection as a trial lawyer, but to give greater voice to the importance of those struggles— the need to protect consumer rights and all of the Bill of Rights, rather than just the ones that get more focus in publicized political elections and often disingenuous debate.

Jeffrey B. Simon is a founding partner of SIMON GREENSTONE PANATIER, PC

Admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1993, and is licensed to practice law in Texas, California and New York. An experienced and skilled trial attorney, Jeffrey has excelled at litigation after graduating from The University of Texas School of Law in 1993. Prior to law school, Jeffrey graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude in 1990 from Colgate University, where he also played varsity tennis. He has been practicing law for over 30 years.

Having been repeatedly recognized by his peers for his excellence in trial law. Jeffrey was ranked one of the Top 10 Personal Injury Attorneys in America by The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys. For many years, he has been recognized as one of America’s Top 100 Plaintiff Attorneys and Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers Association. Jeffrey has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly Magazine each year for over fifteen years, and in 2020, he was recognized as a Texas Trailblazer by Texas Lawyer. Jeffrey served as President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association in 2016 and President of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association in 2013. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a distinction bestowed only upon those who have been lead counsel in a minimum of 25 jury trials.

Standing between large corporations and the harm their self-interested policies do to American consumers, Jeffrey is also focused on protecting consumer rights and giving a greater voice to the importance of this struggle — the need to protect consumer rights and ALL of the Bill of Rights, rather than just the ones that get more focus in publicized political elections and often disingenuous debate.

Jeffrey believes that Americans should be aware that the right to Trial by Jury is protected by the Bill of Rights and that 7th Amendment is under constant attack by large corporations with organized money to support lobbyists and certain political figures. The 7th Amendment is no less sacred nor essential to protecting freedom in America than other protections afforded by the Framers, whether they be the 1st Amendment, the 2nd, Amendment, the 5th Amendment, or any other. In every legislative body in Congress and in all 50 States, there are a constant stream of proposed laws, written and funded by large corporations, that are intended to take away existing rights of American consumers.

Jeffrey is here to help protect private citizens and consumers who may have been harmed by large corporate companies and lack the resources to wage such fights.

Statements

“My primarily goal in my professional life is, and has always been, to do social justice through the civil justice system and to protect the 7th Amendment of the United States Constitution. “

"Many cases arise from events that occurred long ago. Times change, but human life and human dignity have always been, and remain, uniquely precious. Reminding jurors of these essential truths is at the core of what I do."

“America’s opioid epidemic is worsening. For every opioid overdose in America that results in death, there are approximately 30 overdoses that require urgent medical care.”

“Drug companies collectively spent billions of dollars promoting a dangerous but highly effective promotional lie.”

“The most destructive but effective false claim that drug companies spread to promote the Big Lie was that addiction was rare among those taking opioids for chronic pain – less than 1%.”

“Exposure to opioids, specifically, dosages and duration of use are, and have always been, the two biggest risk factors for causing opioid addiction in anyone.”

“When I get to do something that really improves somebody's circumstance by holding a company or another person accountable for their wrongdoing, that is by far for me the most gratifying times in my career”

Chair of the Texas Opioid MDL Plaintiffs Steering Committee

This is a group that seeks to hold drug manufacturers and other supply chain corporations responsible for their role in creating and prolonging the opioid epidemic in Texas. In 2017, Jeffrey B. Simon filed the state’s first opioid-related lawsuit against drug manufacturers and supply chain corporations on behalf of a governmental body. Jeffrey will be one of the lead attorneys for Dallas County when the state’s first opioid trial begins in 2022.

Jeffrey is a frequent speaker on the scope of the opioid epidemic. For the past three years Jeffrey has served as co-chair of the national Opioid Litigation Conference, bringing together medical, legal, and law enforcement experts to discuss how to reduce the social and economic harms of opioid overuse.
